Three Sheep
24" x 48"
Different symbols hold different meanings
for different people, in this case the Hopi, Zuni and Navajo peoples, who
have long histories in the area of Petrified Forest National Park in
northern Arizona, where this petroglyph can be viewed. However, sheep were
often depicted in groups, perhaps signifying abundance, which would extend
to the availability of water and food sources.
