Chile Ristra by Maureen Connell

CHILE RISTRA
24" x 48"

Mexican tradition hangs a ristra of fresh chiles on the front door to warn off thieves.  Or it was just a handy place to hang them out to dry in preparation for making chile powder. More recent tradition is to hang a ristra in place of a Christmas wreath, simply because we like it.  Oil on canvas.
